15th Annual SIAA Awards: Continuing a Tradition of Excellence
The start of a new year brings with it award season. Nearly every industry has an award program, whether an industry association or a related publication sponsors it. No matter the industry, the recognition of hard work serves as a point of pride and celebration for an organization and its staff. This holds true for Lime Valley and its clients.
Service Industry Advertising Awards
The awards highlighted here are Service Industry Advertising Awards, SIAA. The Service Industry Advertising Awards began in 2003 as a way to recognize the advertising excellence of the service industry. It’s a national competition that honors service industry providers, as opposed to popular consumer awards, for their contribution to marketing and advertising.
This year, more than 525 advertising agencies and 730 institutions submitted over 1,600 entries for consideration. A national panel of judges evaluated and rated entries in 26 categories for execution, creativity, quality, consumer appeal and overall breakthrough advertising content.
Lime Valley has won more SIAA Awards than any other agency in Minnesota.
Over the last 14 years, Lime Valley has garnered 71 SIAA awards, more than any other agency in Minnesota. This extraordinary total is comprised of 22 Gold, 14 Silver, 12 Bronze and 23 Merit awards. This year’s eight awards represent a range of product categories from websites to publications and direct mail pieces.

SIAA Award Winners
AviNation is a national magazine dedicated to generating excitement and interest in aviation among youth. The magazine strives to give readers insight into the future of aviation by focusing on aviation students, programs, events and innovative approaches to the promotion and continued growth of the industry. The magazine’s exciting content enabled Lime Valley designers to experiment with layouts and show their creativity.
Bolton & Menk
Bolton & Menk, an engineering firm, approached Lime Valley to assist in the development of a children’s book. With the script provided, Lime Valley developed a storyboard and illustration style that brought the story and characters to life. One book quickly became a series as the firm decided to explore more topics. The books are now being used to educate youth about the work that Bolton & Menk does as well as get kids interested in STEAM-related fields.
Greater Mankato Growth, Inc.
Direct Mail Invitation
The Greater Mankato Business Awards & Hall of Fame is Greater Mankato’s premier business awards event. Lime Valley was chosen to design the invitation, chose the paper stock and coordinate printing. The event required a sophisticated invitation that would convey its prestige. The choice of paper, 110# champagne pearl cover, was key in elevating the already beautiful design and giving the piece the distinguished quality it needed.
Martin Luther College
Martin Luther College worked with Lime Valley to design and published a two-year calendar with every month showcasing a feature of the college’s campus. Each month also highlighted a bible verse to further inspire and grow faith. Interspersed among the months were pages showcasing many of the prominent offerings of the college from academics to extracurricular activities.
Lime Valley Advertising, Inc.
Lime Valley produces a summer promotional piece to send to clients almost every year. This year, staff chose to create an activity book filled with a maze, word search, spot the difference, coloring pages and other fun activities to entertain all ages. Many staff members were involved in planning and creating the book; therefore, the final product is a point of pride for the whole office.
American Lung Association in Minnesota
Special Video Production
The American Lung Association in Minnesota approached Lime Valley to create a video aimed at healthcare professionals discussing new approaches to tobacco cessation for mental health and addiction recovery patients. The video consisted of interviews with four healthcare professionals. The impactful editing and presentation of the video further elevated the quality information gained from the interviews. This exceptional piece will be a strong resource for the organization in their campaign to educate against tobacco use.
Closing the Gap
Closing the Gap is internationally renowned as the leader in assistive technology news, resources and professional development opportunities. Lime Valley created a website that placed emphasis on a thoughtful architecture and navigation system, as well as e-commerce capabilities and a contemporary design. The completely responsive site allows for a user-friendly experience across all media devices.
Region Nine Development Commission
The Region Nine Development Commission works with and on behalf of counties, cities, townships and schools throughout south central Minnesota to promote the development of the region. Lime Valley created a website that effectively connects users with the information they need. The overall look of the site is clean and professional in its use of local images and textures. The site is built to be edited and maintained by the client.
